Script licensing is as simple as…
- Review the list of scripts available for license.
- Using the form below, add up to 3 Preview Copies (free, one scene previews) and/or up to 4 Review Scripts to your cart and check out.
- Answer the questions during checkout to indicate the title and anticipated number of performances for each script requested.
- Receive your Preview Copies and/or Review Scripts by e-mail within 2–3 business days.
- Once you’ve had a chance to read through them, follow the instructions you received along with your Preview Copies and/or Review Scripts to submit a licensing request.
- Receive a licensing fee quote within 2–3 business days.
- Return to this page and add Script Licensing to your cart then check out, inputting the quoted fee in the price field.*
- Once your completed payment has been received and verified, you will receive your licensing contract via e-mail within 2–3 business days.

First, click here to review a full list with synopses of the scripts available for license. You may select a maximum of three (3) Preview Copies to preview a single scene and/or four (4) Review Scripts that you would like to read in their entirety. Once you’ve completed your purchase using the form below, you will receive the requested script(s) by e-mail within 2–3 business days.
Script licensing (the right to perform the play before an audience) requires prior authorization from the playwright. Pricing is based on type of organization (nonprofit, for profit, amateur, professional, etc.), the number of performances, etc. You will be asked a few questions during checkout to help determine the applicable fee.
Once you have received and reviewed your requested script(s), please follow the steps provided by e-mail to submit a licensing request along with any requested information. Your request will be reviewed and you should receive a response within 2–3 business days.
If approved for production, you will be quoted a licensing fee. You may then return to this page and add the “Script Licensing” item in your cart, setting the amount to the licensing fee you were quoted, then check out.* Your order will be reviewed and your licensing contract will be sent via e-mail within 2–3 business days.

Does WhoDunnit own these scripts?
No. The scripts are the sole property of A.S. Waterman Publishing, from whom WhoDunnit contracts licensing rights. WhoDunnit does not have any authority to approve, grant, or confer any licensing rights to other organizations. Please use the form below to request licensing rights from A.S. Waterman Publishing.
Is my purchase tax-deductible?
No. Purchasing Review Script(s) is a standard transfer of goods and services, and therefore not tax-deductible. However, thanks to the generosity of A.S. Waterman Publishing, all proceeds benefit WhoDunnit.
My theatre group operates within 40 miles of Louisville. Can I still license a script?
In general, yes. However, any conflicts with planned WhoDunnit productions are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please e-mail us for more information.
